Why do kids love playgrounds, but not their classroom?
Why do
kids love playgrounds,
In the playground they are free
Throwing and kicking, running and jumping, shouting and laughing, touching and feeling.
With sticks and stones, swings and slides, sand and water, they can do anything.
And whatever they try, the world responds.
but
not their classroom?
In the classroom they are held still
Sit, don't move; listen, don't talk; do this, don't do that.
They can read and write about Newton's laws, but not yet be a scientist.
To try, fail, and actually learn, they must wait a decade or two.
It's time to make the classroom lovable.
phryzby is a playground to break laws, try ruby, and build physics.
